Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen revealed in an extended interviewed covered by the club’s website what won him over about the club.
The Dane made the move from Ajax to link up with the White Hart Lane outfit and he has been one of the club’s best players this season.
“It was always a club that I could see myself playing at. The whole atmosphere (when asked what’s special about the club) from the club through the players, the fans, the stadium and the whole history of the club – It’s a really strong and good group,” said Eriksen.
Eriksen is approaching the end of his second season at the club and he’s arguably become the most important and creative player in midfield.
He’s got a great understanding with Harry Kane through the middle of the attack and when he is used centrally, he has the look of a player who can affect a game in a split second.
It was a big decision for him to up sticks and move to London from the Netherlands, but it’s been a gamble which has paid off.
He faces a number of challenges heading into next season and will have to adjust to the arrival of new attacking players over the summer.
Sides will definitely mark him out as a threat, which means he’ll have to be clever and find ways to reinvent his key skills and experience.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino has used him towards the left at times this season, which is a position he still needs to work on and understand more about, but he excels when he plays in a more natural role as a number ten type player.
