The Arsenal boss is happy with his current goalkeeping options.
This season has seen all three of Arsenal's front-line goalkeeping options have time in the first-team. David Ospina is currently number one, Wojciech Szczesny started the season as the main option whilst Emi Martinez has stepped in when the other two have been injured.
Szczesny committed a couple of clangers against Southampton on New Years Day and was subsequently replaced by the Colombian. Opsina, who signed from Nice last summer, has been in great form since and is currently keeping the Polish international at bay.
But still The Gunners are linked with 'keepers for the summer, the latest being Iker Casillas of Real Madrid.
Arsene Wenger has today quashed such talk in his weekly press conference. He told the gathered media, as reported by Arsenal.com:
"I believe in the goalkeepers I have. I believe that Szczesny is a very good goalkeeper and Ospina has come in and done a fantastic job. You look at the numbers in the Premier League and you look at who is top of all the goalkeepers and you will see it’s Ospina."
Of course his action in the transfer market regarding goalkeepers may be decided by what Szczesny decides to do.
The Polish international is not going to want to sit around on the bench at The Emirates which, at the moment, looks like his likely place.
However, even if he did decide to leave Wenger might just keep faith with Ospina and Martinez regardless. So don't expect to see a new custodian coming through the door at Arsenal in the summer.
