Report: Tottenham will hold meeting over €12-14m move for Florian Thauvin on Tuesday

The Frenchman is wanted by Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be upping their interest in Marseille attacker Florian Thauvin, with a meeting now in place to discuss the topic of bringing him to White Hart Lane.

It is reported by Le Parisien, as relayed by beIN Sports, that a meeting between Marseille president Vincent Labrune and officials from Tottenham Hotspur will take place on Tuesday.

The two clubs will reportedly attempt to thrash out a deal for the player, with the sticking point likely to be the price-tag.

It is reported by Le10 Sport that Thauvin is likely to set Tottenham back a fee in the region of €12-14 million for his services this summer.

The Frenchman has been compared to Zinedine Zidane and Franck Ribery in his time but as yet has failed to live up to his billing in a consistent basis. The Frenchman, who was courted by Premier League sides in the summer of 2013 when he made a move to Lille from Bastia, has played 34 times this season for the French side, scoring just the five goals.

Tottenham are in need of more options on the wing and attacking midfield, with the likes of Erik Lamela struggling to have a big impact on English football.

Thauvin might just be that man.
