The 28-year-old midfielder has enjoyed a prosperous season in the Eredivisie, netting eight goals in 38 games, and that has piqued the interest of the Premier League duo, according to SoccerNews in the Netherlands.
Able to play as a both a deep-lying and attacking midfielder, with a strong wide presence as well, Immers has proven his worth as a free-scoring midfield presence, who can also create chances - with four assists to his name this term.
He has made 116 appearances for Feyenoord since arriving at De Kuip from ADO Den Haag in 2012, and has cemented himself as one of the key players in the Eredivise.
It was current Saints boss Ronald Koeman who brought Immers to De Kuip, and he could influence the midfielder to move to St Mary’s Stadium ahead of any other potential suitors.
There is no reference as to a potential transfer fee, although Immers has two years left on his contract, so they are not being forced to sell this summer.
Newcastle are looking to also move for Immers, although they are unlikely to have the same draw as Southampton due to Koeman’s influence, whilst FC Porto are also named as showing an interest in him.
Immers has experience of both Champions League and Europa League football, and that is a major enticement for Southampton, who are looking to break into Europe for the first time since their return to the Premier League this season,
