Manchester United media round-up: Saints reportedly eye Clyne replacement

Manchester United Old Trafford

A round up of news stories this morning related to Manchester United.

The Daily Mirror has reported that Southampton could already be lining up a replacement for Nathaniel Clyne.

Clyne has been tipped by the paper to follow Luke Shaw to Old Trafford in an expensive deal during the summer market.

Whether United will be forced to pay £30 million in the same way they were for Shaw remains to be seen.

The Daily Telegraph has reported that Real Madrid fear they will be unable to land David De Gea.

Manchester United’s number one has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu, with the Old Trafford club attempting to get him committed on a new long term deal.

The paper mentions Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris as one of the alternatives they are considering.

The Daily Express has reported that Robin Van Persie’s future at the club is hanging in the balance.

The Dutchman has struggled to reproduce the form he showed in his first season at United, during spells under David Moyes and now Louis van Gaal.

The paper claims he’s been given until the end of the season to convince van Gaal that he still has a big role to play at Old Trafford.
