Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong is disappointed to see Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan suffer yet another injury setback.

Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Jon Flanagan’s injury news.

Liverpool defender Flanagan will be sidelined for the next six months at least following knee surgery, according to The Guardian.

The 22-year-old damaged a knee during pre-season and has not played a single competitive game for Brendan Rodgers’s side this campaign.

The full-back returned to full training last month after two previous knee operations, but after undergoing another surgery in London on Tuesday, it seems that his season is over.

Frimpong, now at Russian Premier League club FC Ufa, is disappointed to see Flanagan suffer another setback and posted the following message on Twitter:

Flanagan has been at at Liverpool his entire career, but his current contract with the Reds runs out at the end of the season and no new deal is in place.

The youngster played an important role in the Reds’ second-placed finish in the Premier League last season, scoring one goal and creating 13 chances in 23 league appearances.
