Match preview and predicted line-ups: Celtic v Dundee; Leigh Griffiths set to start

Celtic FC

Celtic can take a massive step towards the Scottish Premiership title with a win against Dundee on Friday night.

To be played on Friday 1st May 2015 at 19:45. Venue: Celtic Park, Glasgow.

Odds: Celtic 1/6, Draw 13/2, Dundee 14/1

Celtic have the opportunity to set themselves up for a fourth consecutive Scottish Premiership title against Dundee on Friday night.

If the Bhoys win their game at Celtic Park and Aberdeen fail to take maximum points against Dundee United on Saturday, then Ronny Deila’s men will be crowned champions in his first season in charge.

Wins against both Dundee-based sides in their previous two matches added to their four straight wins, extending the run to six games, and almost securing the crown.

Dundee have struggled lately and a fourth league defeat in a row for Paul Hartley’s side is likely given Celtic’s imperious form and the fact that Dundee have very little to play for after the league split, which sees them safe from relegation but some way short of European football.

The visitors have historically struggled against Celtic, failing to win in any of their previous 19 matches against them, recording only three draws in that time.

Leigh Griffiths has been the main threat for the Bhoys of late and he added another hat-trick to his tally against Dundee United, bringing his total to 18 for the season, making him Celtic’s top goal-scorer.

He is likely to start the game alongside Stefan Johansen, who returned to the team last weekend, but the game comes too soon for Charlie Mulgrew who is very close to a return following his hamstring tendon injury.

Dundee are without Greg Stewart – who was nominated for PFA Scotland Player of the Year – following a red card in the loss against St Johnstone last time out.

One of Luka Tankulic and Craig Wighton could deptutise, while Iain Davidson could come in to replace Tomas Konrad, who was replaced at half-time against St Johnstone.

Predicted Celtic line-up:

Gordon, Matthews, van Dijk, Denayer, Izaguirre, Biton, Brown, Mackay-Steven, Johansen, Forrest, Griffiths

Predicted Dundee line-up:

Bain, Dyer, Davidson, McPake, McGinn, Thompson, McGowan, McAlister, Heffernan, Tankulic, Clarkson
