The Toffees’ defence have netted nine Premier League goals compared to the eight strikes by the Anfield attackers.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has admitted recently that his side are in need of a revamp in the final third, with a proven goalscorer surely on the Merseyside outfit’s radar this summer.

With Luis Suarez having left the club and Daniel Sturridge sidelined with injury, the Reds have struggled to hit the back of the net with regularity this term.

In a stat that shows just how much the Anfield outfit are lacking a lethal touch in the opposition penalty box, the four strikers available to Rodgers currently have only scored eight Premier League goals this season.

To make matters worse, as can be seen in the Bleacher Report graphic below, Everton’s back four have scored nine goals this season - one more than their rivals’ attackers.

Although the Goodison Park outfit have a number of attack-minded defenders who can pose a threat in the opposition half, the stat really shows the dire situation that Rodgers faces in his squad currently.

With Daniel Sturridge’s four strikes due to injury aside, the other three forwards must surely be viewed as not up to the task of firing Liverpool back English football’s elite.
