It is easy to see why comparisons have been made between Sean Goss and the man he wants to emulate at Manchester United, Michael Carrick.
The teenager featured as the Red Devils beat Fulham last night, with Robin van Persie on the scoresheet.
Goss spoke to Manchester United's official website earlier this month about comparisons to Carrick, and it's easy to see why they were made, with the pair bearing a striking physical resemblance.
He said: "’He is one of my favourite players in the first team and I do look up to him. I want to play like him as well, spreading passes, keeping the ball and trying to read the play.’’
Goss was once a United mascot at Old Trafford at the age of just seven, and signed from Exeter City in 2012.
He has made his first step up to the under-21 side this season, and scored his first goal for them last week in a win over Leicester City.
The 19-year-old is also eligible to play international football for Germany as well as England, and is yet to be called up by any Three Lions side.
Perhaps the comparisons to Carrick are closer than first thought.
