Walker, who represented West Ham between 2004 and 2009, has been impressed by Lloris' displays this season and rates the Frenchman as the top stopper in English football.
"The other day, I was asked about who the best goalkeeper is in the Premier League is," he said. "I think this crop of goalkeepers is as good I can remember. There are ten or twelve excellent goalkeepers. Chelsea have got two of the best in the world. David De Gea has been excellent but for me, Hugo Lloris has been the best. He’s been superb all season and he’s made some big saves."
It is an opinion that most Tottenham fans will agree with, as Lloris has been nothing short of sensational for them this season.
Lloris has single-handedly won Spurs points in a number of matches and has become a firm fans' favourite at White Hart Lane for his consistent levels of excellence.
The problem for Spurs is that Lloris' form has attracted the attentions of Real Madrid, according to the Daily Mail, but the Lilywhites will be hoping to keep hold of him for the foreseeable future.
Walker also had words of praise for West Ham goalkeeper Adrian. The Spaniard has proved himself to be very reliable in the Hammers goal and is one of the unsung performers in their team.
Adrian is not often named among the top goalkeepers in the Premier League, but Walker feels that he deserves more praise for his role.
"Adrian is right up there with De Gea, and Lloris, he’s had several outstanding games," he said. "It’s a very strong field, good goalkeepers like Tim Howard and Asmir Begovic don’t get enough praise."
