Earlier in the campaign, Simon Mignolet looked like a goalkeeper with little confidence, as mistakes started to take hold in his play and cost Liverpool vital points.
With the Belgian not looking like the safe pair of hands that the Reds had purchased from Sunderland, Brendan Rodgers took the decision to drop him halfway through the season.
However, when Brad Jones suffered injury, Mignolet was reinstated to the Merseysiders’ starting XI and hasn’t look back since.
The Belgium international has been one of the most consistent performers for the Anfield outfit in recent months, with the player clearly reacting well to Rodgers’ decision to omit him.
As such, following the Reds’ 0-0 stalemate with West Brom at the weekend, Mignolet has joined Southampton’s Fraser Forster as the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in the Premier League this season.
Rodgers has been full of praise for Mignolet of late and rightly so.

Given the fact that the Belgian is starting to perform at his best and Liverpool are keeping clean sheets, it puts a real focus on the inaccuracy of the team at the other end of the pitch.
If Liverpool are to make an assault on the top four next season, the Belgian stopper will be a crucial member of the team and has cast aside any potential doubts over his future at Anfield.
