The sight of Gareth Bale in a Chelsea shirt would not be a pleasant one for Tottenham fans to have to look at, let alone face twice a season.
The Sun reported this morning that Real Madrid are to approach Chelsea over a sensational swap deal involving Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard, both player of the season winners in England.
Bale netted 24 goals in his final season at Spurs, and has gone onto win the Champions League and Copa del Rey with Real Madrid after making a move which saw the Spanish giants pay a world record transfer fee for his signature.
The Welshman has however become a target for criticism for fans when the team's form has dipped, while Hazard's stock has never been higher.

In the Champions League this season Eden Hazard has outperformed Bale in four key categories. Despite playing in one less game than the Real Madrid star, he has more goals and more assists.
He has also created twice as many chances and completed over double the number of dribbling attempts.
Such a blockbuster swap deal for Bale and Hazard may be more Football Manager than real life, but it is not hard to see why the La Liga giants would consider proposing such a move.
