The Spanish striker is currently on loan at Deportivo La Coruña, as they battle for survival in La Liga.
In an interview with La Voz de Galicia, along with discussing the battle for safety in La Liga with Deportivo La Coruña, on loan striker Oriol Riera also pondered his future with Wigan Athletic, following their relegation from the Championship back in England.
Questioned if he'd like to remain with the Galician club, beyond the end of his loan deal, the 28-year-old admitted:
"I'm very happy here, but it doesn't just depend upon me. I spoke with my agent the other day, about how difficult this situation is. We can only wait and see what happens. I've not had any conversations with anyone from Wigan."
Clearly, that leaves Oriol Riera in a position of uncertainty, further complicated by the Latics dropping down another division, as he explained:
"My departure from Wigan was complicated and this week their relegation has been confirmed. I've had zero contact from them, but still have two more years on my contract there."
Oriol Riera scored an important equaliser away at Malaga at the weekend, although Deportivo remain inside the relegation zone, further adding to the uncertainty of whether a permanent move to Riazor can be secured.
During his loan, the striker has contributed four goals an one assist, over 16 appearances in La Liga.
