Tottenham Hotspur youngster Milos Veljkovic was back in action for the club's under-21 side after injury wrecked his season.
Veljkovic injured his shoulder in just his third game on loan at Charlton Athletic in early February, and has been out of action ever since.
It was his second loan of the season, having made four appearances for Middlesbrough in late 2014.
The 19-year-old captained Tottenham's under-21 side last night, getting a much needed game under his belt. He was however unable to prevent Spurs losing 1-0 to Sunderland.
The match also saw loanee Nathan Oduwa start, returning from League Two club Luton Town, where he has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter.
Highly rated trio Josh Onomah, Harry Winks and Shayon Harrison also started for Spurs, but they were unable to break down a resilient Black Cats side.
Veljkovic featured in pre-season under Mauricio Pochettino last season, and is likely to do so again this campaign as the club look to assess what they have with him. This season has been a lost year due to injuries, and another loan deal could be a likely option in 2015/16.
