Manchester City have sent a message of congratulations to their player Jason Denayer on their official Twitter account, after he was crowned Celtic’s Young Player of the Year on Sunday.
The 19-year-old is currently on loan at Celtic Park and he has enjoyed a marvellous campaign to date.
Denayer has appeared 40 times for Celtic this season, scoring six goals and providing two assists in that time and playing a vital role at the back for Ronny Deila’s side.
Considering his age and the senior defenders currently at the Etihad Stadium, it would be no surprise if Celtic tried to extend Denayer’s stay for another season, with the youngster knowing that he can play regularly in Scotland at a club where he is developing at an impressive rate.
But with every new accolade that comes his way, City will be reminded just how talented Denayer is and it will be up to the Blues’ manager Manuel Pellegrini whether the Belgian is deemed ready for the Premier League as early as next season.
