Lloris comments on the state of his knee after comeback

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris gave a positive update after returning from a knee problem.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris told Spurs TV that he felt good throughout his return to the team over the weekend.

The experienced Frenchman resumed his position in goal for Spurs and the good news is that he didn’t feel any repercussions of the knee problem, which has recently kept him out of action.

“After one month, it was a pleasure to come back into the team. I had a good feeling without sensation,” said Lloris.

“I think all of the medical staff did a great job for me to come back as quick as possible and after one month I’m really happy – It’s part of football and it was good news for Michel.”

Lloris is a key figure for a number of reasons, with one of the most obvious being his leadership ability.

The Frenchman is very good when it comes to structuring the side based on what he sees in goal and he’s not afraid to let a teammate have it if he feels they are out of position or not pulling their weight.

Tottenham are also able to play a higher defensive line when he plays because he’s so proactive in terms of looking for ways to come out of goal and take the pressure off of defenders.

That’s beneficial in terms of midfield and attack because it allows Spurs to maintain pressure over their opposition more effectively.

The Frenchman won’t be happy with the nature of the goals Tottenham conceded, but it’s encouraging he’s back in action and can fight hard over the remaining games before a rest in the summer.
