Leeds United's Liam Cooper made only four accurate passes in 90 minutes against Sheffield Wednesday.

Leeds United defender Liam Cooper was on the winning side at the weekend, but did not see much of the ball at his feet during their victory.

Cooper made only four accurate passes, from nine attempts, during the entire 90 minutes in the win over Sheffield Wednesday.

He was more involved from a defensive perspective, making 11 clearances, three interceptions and one tackle during the 2-1 win.

The entire Leeds side struggled to retain possession during the victory, with Gaetano Berardi only managing eight passes, while the highest of any player to complete 90 minutes was Sam Byram with 19.

One reason for the number of low passes was the Hillsborough playing surface, with Owls boss Stuart Gray criticising the pitch earlier this year, as reported by the Sheffield Star.

How do Cooper's low passing stats compare?

It was a joint season lowest for an outfield Leeds United player, to complete only four passes. This equalled striker Billy Sharp's figures against Middlesbrough early in the season - yet the forward scored the winning goal, so there are few grounds for complaint regarding his contribution that day.

Cooper has had little success recently for Leeds, being on the winning side in just one of the last nine games he has played in.

He won't mind how this win came, and nor will the rest of the side, snapping a five game losing streak to beat their Yorkshire rivals.
