Jamie Redknapp: Newcastle may not get another point this season

Newcastle United have lost their last seven Premier League matches.

Jamie Redknapp has told the Daily Mail that he would not be at all surprised if Newcastle United did not pick up another point before the end of the season.

The Magpies have lost their last seven Premier League fixtures and the woeful standard of their performances has left Redknapp questioning where their next win will come from.

Redknapp says that the whole squad seems to have relaxed and he has brandished the players an 'embarrassment' for their lack of effort.

"The way Newcastle are going I would not be surprised if they don’t get a single point between now and the end of the season. They have been an embarrassment," he said.

"It’s as if they are in the clubhouse with 35 points. They don’t look like adding to that any time soon and anybody with Newcastle in their run-in has got a chance of a result."

With Newcastle's total currently standing at 35 points they are in severe danger and they need to get a win from somewhere.

At the moment the Tynesiders are only five points off the drop-zone and if they do fail to get a result between now and the end of the season they are likely to be caught.

The form of most of the sides at the bottom of the Premier League table has improved and John Carver needs to find a way to galvanise his players.

Newcastle were relegated in 2008-09 and they will be desperate to avoid a repeat of that season, as it would be a disaster for the club.
