Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have a common message for Benik Afobe on Twitter

Wolverhampton Wanderers fans hope that former Arsenal prospect Benik Afobe fires the team to a Championship top-six finish.

Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to urge Benik Afobe to make sure that the team claim a place in the Championship playoffs this season.

With just one more round of matches left in the league this campaign, the Wanderers are still in contention of a top-six finish.

Kenny Jackett’s side are currently eighth in the Championship table with 75 points from 45 matches, just two points behind sixth-placed Derby County.

Wolves returned to winning ways in the league on Saturday when they got the better of Wigan Athletic 1-0 away from home at the DW Stadium.

Former Arsenal striker Afobe scored the only goal of the match in the 25th minute of the encounter, finding the target from close range after connecting with Bakary Sako’s free kick.

Over the course of the 90 minutes, Wolves had just 38% of the possession, took four shots of which three were on target, and earned four corners.

It was not the most comprehensive of victories for Wolves at the DW Stadium, but at the end of the day, three points are all that matter.

Wolves’s final league game is against Millwall at Molineux next weekend, and the fans want Afobe to do his best to win it and secure a place in the playoffs.
