West Ham fans react on Twitter to Reece Burke's performance against QPR

Upton Park

West Ham United and Queens Park Rangers drew 0-0 on Saturday but what did Hammers fans think of Reece Burke's contribution?

West Ham United may not have been able to break down Queens Park Rangers on Saturday but there was one big positive for manager Sam Allardyce – the performance of Premier League debutant Reece Burke.

The 18-year-old had previously turned out for the Hammers in the League Cup this season, but he has now also tasted league action, playing the whole 90 minutes on Saturday.

West Ham’s injury woes at the back saw Burke called up and he did not disappoint. He may not have put in the perfect performance, but considering his age and the fact that Allardyce’s men are not exactly on fire right now, the teenager should be commended for his contribution.

It remains to be seen how many more chances Burke gets this season, but it seems West Ham could have a future star on their hands based on these early, tentative steps into senior football.

After the match we took to Twitter to see what West Ham fans thought of Burke’s performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
