Tottenham's Nabil Bentaleb explains why he's disappointed with Saints draw

One of Tottenham Hotspur's best players this season is not happy with the two points dropped against Southampton.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Nabil Bentaleb spoke following his side’s 2-2 draw with Southampton on Saturday, his comments later published on Spurs’ official Twitter account.

The Algeria international was part of the side that came back twice to ultimately draw with Ronald Koeman’s team, but the Tottenham man has admitted that he is disappointed with the performance.

“I’m disappointed because we had chances to win the game and we have the quality to beat them,” he said.

It is telling that despite his side twice coming from behind, the young player tipped by some to become a future captain of the club is not happy with a draw.

Bentaleb has been brilliant for Tottenham this season, making 31 appearances to date and looking every inch a star-in-the-making despite being only 20.

With a few more years under his belt he could be performing at a level that sees him mentioned among the great and the good of Tottenham’s past. But for now his job is to ensure his side finishes as high in the league as possible, which means wins rather than draws.
