Southampton players believe they 'deserved more' after 2-2 draw with Tottenham

Southampton players reacted on Twitter after a 2-2 draw against Tottenham on Saturday.

Southampton were hoping to get revenge over former manager Mauricio Pochettino on Saturday, but could only draw 2-2 against his Tottenham side.

Pochettino spent just over a year in charge of the Saints before leaving last summer, joining Premier League rivals Tottenham as Tim Sherwood's replacement.

Current Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has continued Pochettino's fine work this season, and he was delighted to see his side take the lead against Spurs, with Graziano Pelle capitalising on some hesitant defending from Ryan Mason and Ben Davies to score his tenth Premier League goal of the season.

Spurs hit back just before half time through an Erik Lamela goal, but Pelle made it 11 for the campaign with a thumping header past Hugo Lloris to put the Saints back in front.

Tottenham came roaring back again though, as Nacer Chadli stole an equaliser to send Pochettino home with a point after his first return to the South Coast.

After the game, a number of Southampton players took to Twitter to air their views on the game, whilst manager Ronald Koeman even sent out a message too - with the recurring theme that Southampton deserved more than a point.
