Another young Celtic player could be closing in on a first-team chance.

Celtic continued their march towards a likely domestic double when they defeated Dundee United 3-0 at Tannadice on Sunday afternoon.

A hat-trick from Leigh Griffiths gave the Bhoys all three points and means Celtic can now claim the league title next weekend.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila has given a number of young players a chance this season and more are likely to be introduced in the campaigns to come, and one such player was with the travelling party this weekend.

He may not have featured in the match-day squad, but 19-year-old defender Jamie Lindsay will have benefitted from being included with the senior side, along with fellow youngster Kieran Tierney who made the bench.

The two players were photographed in an image later published by Celtic’s official Twitter account, and both could be turning out for Deila’s side next season and beyond.

While Tierney made his debut for the first-team earlier this season, Lindsay has had to be more patient.

That said, after impressing for Celtic’s under-20 side, in the UEFA Youth League and for Scotland’s under-19s, it can only be a matter of time before the club’s fans have another young talent to cheer on.
