Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion drew 0-0 on Saturday and some of the Reds players took to social media to express their feelings after the game.

Liverpool saw their hopes of a top-four finish suffer another blow this weekend as they were held to a goalless draw against West Bromwich Albion.

Brendan Rodgers’ side were hoping to cut the gap on the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United, but they came up against a West Brom side that refused to concede.

Any side managed by Tony Pulis is a tough nut to crack and Liverpool’s forward were simply not good enough to break down the hosts.

While their attacking quality was lacking, Liverpool’s defence impressed, and their goalkeeper Simon Mignolet was quick to hail the collective effort of his side on his official Twitter account.

Posting a message shortly after the final whistle, the Belgian stopper wrote, “Defended really well as a whole; unfortunately we didn’t manage to get a goal.”

Liverpool’s defence has not always impressed this season but since switching to three centre-backs they have looked far more solid.

That said, they began to ship goals more recently and Rodgers will be pleased with a fine defensive display, with the much-maligned Dejan Lovren particularly impressive.
