Everton fans react on Twitter to Lennon's performance against United

Everton Goodison 3

Everton defeated Manchester United 3-0 this weekend, but what did Toffees fans think of Tottenham Hotspur loanee Aaron Lennon's performance?

Everton’s win against Manchester United saw Roberto Martinez’s entire side shine, but one player deserves particular praise in the form of winger Aaron Lennon.

The Tottenham Hotspur loanee may not have got on the score-sheet but he worked his socks off against a side looking to get over last weekend’s narrow defeat to Chelsea.

Instead, they lost again, this time to an Everton side who are starting to get the measure of United whoever is in charge at Old Trafford.

Everton’s goals came courtesy of the outstanding James McCarthy, John Stones and Kevin Mirallas, and while United bossed possession they did not come close to changing the result.

Lennon has played 11 matches for Everton since arriving on loan from Tottenham in the last transfer window, and it as if he is making up for lost time.

Two goals and an assist in his short Everton career to date only tell part of the story. He looks every bit a Toffees player and one wonders if Tottenham will be tempted to bring him back to White Hart Lane this summer, or if they will opt to make his move a permanent one.

Everton and their fans will surely be hoping it is the latter. Against United he was simply superb and he has clearly bought into Martinez’s philosophy.

After the match we took to Twitter to see what Everton fans thought of Lennon’s performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
