Arsenal legend Thierry Henry understands Cesc Fabregas’s move to Chelsea

Former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas joined Chelsea from Barcelona in the summer of 2014.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has written in The Sun that Cesc Fabregas should not be blamed for joining Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

Spain international midfielder Fabregas was on the books of Arsenal between 2003 and 2011, before returning to his former club Barcelona.

In the summer of 2014, the 27-year-old joined Arsenal’s London rivals Chelsea and will return to the Emirates Stadium as a Blue today.

Henry, a former Arsenal striker and teammate of Fabregas, understands the Spaniard's decision to join Chelsea from Barcelona.

“Maybe that move to the Nou Camp didn’t work out the way he wanted even though he won a fair amount of trophies,” the former France international wrote in The Sun. “But he has ended up at Chelsea and you cannot blame him for wanting to win trophies.”

During this entire time at Arsenal, Fabregas won just the FA Cup and the FA Community Shield; in only his first season at Chelsea, the Spaniard has already clinched the League Cup and is set to claim the Premier League title.

Many Arsenal fans may not like the midfielder any more, but there can be no doubt that during his time at the Emirates, Fabregas gave his all and did his best for the team.
