Yesterday saw Newcastle United lose to Swansea City 3-2, another loss as relegation fears begin to mount for the struggling Magpies.
However, there was one positive to take from the game - a goal for Siem De Jong.
The Dutchman scored his first goal for the club since his arrival from Ajax in the summer. So finally, a player named De Jong has scored for Newcastle.
Of course, before Siem, there was Luuk.
He signed for the club on loan from Borussia Monchengladbach last January. But while he has been fantastic for PSV Eindhoven this season, scoring an impressive 21 goals in 37 appearances, he flopped with Newcastle.
He failed to score in 12 appearances for Newcastle after making his debut on the 1st February. He left in the summer and his brother arrived. But he has suffered with a persistent thigh injury all season and then collapsed a lung, so has barely played.
Finally however, after nearly 15 months of having a De Jong in the team, Newcastle United have finally seen one score.
Perhaps the curse of the De Jong's will now be lifted.
