Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur played out a 2-2 draw at St Mary’s on Saturday – a result that neither manager is likely to be particularly pleased with.
Saints boss Ronald Koeman is sure to be pleased with the return to form of Grazianno Pelle and the fact that his side went ahead twice, but he will not be pleased that they gave away the lead on two separate occasions.
Similarly Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino will want to see more from his side despite the fact that they twice clawed their way back into the game.
Pelle opened the scoring in the 29th minute but Eric Dier set up Erik Lamela for the equaliser shortly before half-time.
The Italian international then scored his second of the game 20 minutes after the restart but this time it was Chadli who benefited from a fine pass from Dier.
The result means both sides have dropped points in the race for a European spot next season.
