Schneiderlin will come up against Eriksen and co as the Saints host Tottenham at St Mary's later today.
And the Frenchman has heaped praise on his 23-year-old counterpart ahead of the encounter.
Of the Spurs star, the Southampton man told reporters: “Eriksen this season has been amazing. He has scored a lot of winning goals and a lot of free kicks. That shows the team is strong and they will be hard to beat.
“I know him well as a player. He is really comfortable at the level what he needs to play. He is an important player because he is scoring important goals.”
Considering how impressed the Southampton midfielder seems to be by the Dane, Tottenham fans might dream about seeing the two play alongside each other at White Hart Lane one day.
Schneiderlin has impressed considerably for the Saints and could offer the steel Spurs have so often lacked in midfield.
For now, though, the Frenchman will be a little busy trying to overcome Tottenham, who are managed by his former boss, of course. It'll be interesting to see how Eriksen performs in the wake of Schneiderlin's comments.
After all, the 22-year-old may have impressed for his club throughout the course of the campaign - but his form has dipped significantly of late.
