Ronny Deila explains what Liam Henderson told him after his first goal for Rosenborg

Celtic Stands

The Celtic boss has been speaking about one of the club's brightest young talents.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila has been speaking to the club’s official website about the Bhoys’ young midfielder Liam Henderson.

The 19-year-old is currently on loan at Norwegian side Rosenborg, and after two uneventful substitute appearances he made an impact in the Norwegian Cup match against Vuku IL, scoring in a 3-0 win.

Now Deila has revealed what Henderson told him shortly after that match, saying, “He scored on Wednesday and afterwards he said that he’s never been so frozen in his life.”

It may be cold over in Norway right now, but this loan move could be the making of a player who is extremely highly-rated at Celtic Park.

The teenager has already made 22 senior appearances for Celtic, scoring two goals and providing one assist in that time.

His loan move came as a surprise to many, given the timing and the fact Henderson appeared to be making waves under Deila.

But in fact this could prove to be a masterstroke from the Celtic manager, who may have joked about Henderson’s current location, but who knows all too well the benefits from learning in that particular country.
