Celtic are reportedly interested in signing Hamburg playmaker Rafael van der Vaart
The Bhoys are closing in on a fourth successive Scottish Premiership title, with Ronny Deila's men currently eight points clear of second placed Aberdeen.
Deila will be looking to bring in some new signings this summer though, and reports from Bild suggest that Hamburg playmaker van der Vaart is a target.
The Dutch international, 32, made his name with Ajax before moves to Hamburg and Real Madrid, but most will know him from his time with Tottenham.
Seen as a marquee signing for Harry Redknapp in 2010, van der Vaart became a fan favourite at White Hart Lane, 28 goals in 78 games before returning to Hamburg in 2012.
Now coming towards the end of his career, van der Vaart is available on a free transfer this summer, with his contract set to expire with Hamburg - who are rock bottom of the Bundesliga and edging closer to relegation to the second tier.
It's now believed that Celtic have registered an interest in bringing van der Vaart back to British football, in what would be an audacious move from Deila's men.
Deila does have the likes of Stefan Johansen, Kris Commons and Stuart Armstrong at his disposal, but the potential to add a top-class player like van der Vaart on a free transfer may be too good to pass up for the Bhoys.
