Rangers 2-2 Falkirk: Gers stage late comeback

Falkirk let slip a two-goal lead against Rangers to draw the Scottish Championship encounter 2-2 at Ibrox.

Rangers have staged a late comeback to play out a 2-2 draw with Falkirk at home in the Scottish Championship.

The hosts made the brighter start to the game, as Darren McGregor, Marius Zaliukas, Ryan Hardie, Newcastle United-owned Haris Vuckic and Kenny Miller all had chances in the opening 12 minutes.

Former Celtic star Miller came close again for Rangers at Ibrox just after the half-hour mark, but his attempt from close range was not on target.

Tom Walsh could have put Rangers ahead in the opening minutes of the second period, but it was Falkirk who took the lead in the 57th minute through John Baird, who fired home from close range after connecting with a delivery from Craig Sibbald.

Lee McCulloch could have equalised for the home team just before the hour mark, but his shot from close range was saved.

Then just two minutes later, Tom Taiwo doubled the visitors’ lead after being teed up by John Baird.

Newcastle-owned Vuckic pulled one back for Rangers in the 83rd minute when he headed in Nicky Law’s delivery, and with just seconds to spare, Law himself made it 2-2.
