Nottingham Forest midfielder Gary Gardner reveals he is out of Ipswich game with injury on Twitter

The Aston Villa loanee is out of the game with the Tractor Boys.

Nottingham Forest take on Ipswich Town this afternoon in the Championship, with the home side looking to step closer to the play-off places at Portman Road.

Forest on the other hand are not in the race for much over than pride at this point in the season. After a stunning start to life under Dougie Freedman, which had fans dreaming of an unlikely play-off spot, has now dissipated and they are without a win in their last six fixtures.

One man who was integral to their form under Freedman early on was midfielder Gary Gardner. The talented Aston Villa loanee has been impressive during his time at the City Ground but Forest will have to do without him this afternoon.

Gardner has Tweeted this morning to reveal that he will not be featuring for Forest in Suffolk today as he has picked up a knock in training this week.

Here is the Tweet in question:

Gardner will now be hoping to recover in time for next week. The fixture against Cardiff City next weekend could be his final game for the club before heading back to Villa at the end of his loan deal.
