Manchester United winger Ashley Young has taken to social networking site Twitter to revel in Watford’s promotion to the Premier League.
England international Young is a former Watford player and rose through the club’s academy before going on to establish himself in the first team.
The 29-year-old was a key player in the Hornets’ promotion-winning Championship season of 2005-06, and he is delighted to see his former club get promotion to the Premier League for the 2015-16 campaign.
Just seconds after it was confirmed today that Watford have been promoted, Young made the following post on Twitter:
Watford currently have 88 points from 45 matches, four points clear at the top of the Championship table.
With just a round of games remaining this season in the second tier of English football, Slavisa Jokanovic’s side are guaranteed of a top-two finish.
Watford’s final match of the 2014-15 campaign is against Sheffield Wednesday at home next weekend.
