Leeds United’s Liam Cooper reacts on Twitter to Chesterfield securing League One playoff spot

Liam Cooper joined Championship outfit Leeds United from League One club Chesterfield in the summer of 2014.

Leeds United defender Liam Cooper has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to his former club Chesterfield securing a place in the League One playoffs.

Chesterfield suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to champions Bristol City today, but they still managed to stay in contention of a place in the Championship next season.

That’s because Rochdale went down 3-2 at home to Milton Keynes Dons today, which means that the Spireites can now finish no lower than sixth in the league table.

Paul Cook’s side are currently sixth in the League One table with 68 points from 45 matches, five points ahead of Rochdale, who are fifth.

Cooper, who joined Leeds from Chesterfield in the summer transfer window, is delighted to see his former side retain their chances of playing in the Championship next season.

Leeds also won today, defeating Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 away from home at Hillsborough in the Championship.

The West Yorkshire outfit are now 15th in the league table with 55 points from 45 matches.
