Celtic are on course to winning the Scottish Premiership this season.

Celtic winger James Forrest has explained to Celtic View how winning the Scottish Premiership title early will help the club’s youngsters.

The Bhoys are currently five points clear at the top of the league table and are favourites to clinch the championship this season.

The Glasgow giants have picked up 79 points from 33 matches and have a game in hand over second-placed Aberdeen.

Scotland international star Forrest wants to wrap up the title as soon as possible, and he believes that this will give youngsters the chance to get some playing time before the end of the season.

“If we win the next few games and manage to win the league then maybe some of the younger players can get a chance - but we have to concentrate on winning the league first," the 23-year-old told this week’s edition of Celtic View (which was published on Wednesday).

It has been a long and hard season for Celtic, and if indeed they manage to wrap up the Premiership title soon, then manager Ronny Deila could be convinced to hand some young players chances in the first team.

On Wednesday, 17-year-old wide player Kieran Tierney made his first-team debut for the Scottish giants against Dundee away from home in the Premiership.
