Chin up, Tim Sherwood. Gary Lineker has your back.
Indeed, after a typically eventful Sherwood performance, Aston Villa lost 3-2 to Manchester City on Saturday night. The Premier League champions took the lead, Villa fought back to 2-2 - but a late Fernandinho strike gave City all three points.
The key point, though, is that this was an 'eventful' encounter. It's typical Sherwood - but it wasn't typical Aston Villa while Paul Lambert was around.
The fact the Midlands side lost, then, is countered by the fact they are still taking part in exciting matches and producing exciting displays.
And that's exactly how Lineker sees it. Indeed, the Match of the Day host reacted on Twitter to Manchester City's win by hailing Sherwood's new-look Aston Villa side.
They may have lost but Aston Villa are an entirely different proposition under Tim Sherwood.— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) April 25, 2015
Excitement, though, won't get Villa safe. The Midlands club are just two points off the relegation zone with four games left now and losing dramatic games like this won't help their cause.
Realistically, though, there are teams below Aston Villa that are in much worse form. And, if Sherwood's men can fight back like they did against Manchester City, there's a distinct possibility they'll be able to get enough points to stay up.
It's all to play for, of course, but it looks like Lineker would back them to survive...
