A year ago, on the 24th April 2014, there was plenty going on in the world of football.
Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge declared himself fit for a crunch tie with Chelsea in the Premier League, Rene Meulensteen claimed David Moyes shot himself in the foot with his sacking at Manchester United and Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert was stating his desire to remain at the club for a long time - he was sacked this season.
But for the latest in a set of features looking back on this day in football a year previously the focus is on Arsenal, and Mesut Ozil.
Barca want Ozil
The German international had only joined from Real Madrid in the previous summer - but he had struggled to adapt to English football after his move to the club.
Ozil's career at Arsenal has gone on, with no move to Barcelona ever coming to the fore. He has struggled for his best form in the past year or so, but has recently returned from a knee problem rejuvenated. Just today he was nominated for the Player of the Month award in the Premier League.
So a fairly good turnaround in 12 months.
