The French international wants to play in the Champions League with Lyon.
Lyon's promising midfielder Nabil Fekir has been speaking about his future today. The attacking midfielder appeared to make it clear his desire was to remain with Lyon for the time being.
He is quoted as telling a press conference earlier today, as reported by talkSPORT:
"I want to stay at Lyon; this is a club where I feel good. I want to enjoy the Champions League here.”
Arsenal were linked with a move for the player back in December by the Daily Mail. In February it was reported by The Express that Arsenal were looking at signing the player for a fee of £25 million.
Manchester City have also been linked with the player. In January The Express claimed that City were also keen on the Frenchman.
The reasons why they are so keen is clear. Fekir has been in great form this season. He has played 30 times this campaign, scoring 12 times, as Lyon fight for the title in France's Ligue 1.
His form also saw him capped by France for the first time earlier this year, so he is rightly attracting interest from big teams in the Premier League.
But it looks like Arsenal and Manchester City will be left disappointed.
