The Reds star has arguably been the best addition to Brendan Rodgers' side this season.
The German midfielder/defender has grown into a shrewd signing for Brendan Rodgers side having taken his time to settle in the Premier League. Playing much of the season at the back, the former Bayer Leverkusen star has grown into a fan favourite at Anfield.
Since moving to central defence, Can has played 15 straight league games for Liverpool, a run that has seen eleven wins and just two defeats.
His composure and quality on the ball has worked well alongside his physical strength and ability to bring the ball out of defence.
There is a certain gap opening up in Liverpool's midfield next season, and it will be intriguing to see whether the German will be the man to come in alongside Jordan Henderson.
Wherever he'll play, expect to hear the Anfield faithful belting out his name when ever the opportunity arrises.
"It's a great, great honour for me," the 21-year-old said when shown a video of fans singing his name.
"Things like that make me feel incredibly proud. It's difficult to put into words how it feels to have the fans behind you. I really appreciate what they've done and I want to repay them on the pitch. I'll give 100 per cent in every game for them.
"I'd heard a couple of times at Anfield that they've sung my name, and that made me really proud. I just want to repay the fans and hopefully we'll celebrate titles together in the coming seasons.
"Liverpool have got really great fans and it feels great to feel so welcome after such a short space of time. It makes me proud and you can't really describe this feeling."
