The Celtic boss was discussing the end-of-season awards.
The Norwegian expressed his delight for existing Celtic nominees Virgil van Dijk, Stefan Johansen and Jason Denayer - but feels goalkeeper Gordon should also have made the list.
In fact, Deila is of the belief several Bhoys stars could also have been nominated, so strong has their domestic season been.
But Gordon was the man the Celtic head coach namechecked during his pre-Dundee United press conference.
Gordon has enjoyed a phenomenal season at Parkhead after returning from two years out injured and signing for the Hoops.
RD on van Dijk, Johansen and Denayer Player of the Year nominations: "Of course I'm very happy for them."— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) April 24, 2015
RD: "They have had a good season but there could be other players from Celtic also who have done very well."— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) April 24, 2015
RD: "Craig Gordon was a good candidate but I could tell you three, four more maybe so it makes me happy. I'm proud."— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) April 24, 2015
Celtic face United this weekend on the back of a 2-1 win over Dundee in the Scottish Premership on Wednesday night.
Deila also discussed the controversial Josh Meekings handball incident that occurred when he saw his side get knocked out of the Scottish Cup semi-finals last weekend but admits he is getting tired of discussing the same thing again and again.
Should Celtic secure the league title, they will no doubt have plenty to thank Gordon for. As Deila emphasises, though, that applies for many of the Bhoys.
