Collymore uses four players to suggest a successful season for Tottenham

Stan Collymore used the example of four players to suggest reasons Tottenham Hotspur fans should be optimistic.

Former Aston Villa, Liverpool and England forward Stan Collymore listed on talkSPORT the reasons he feels this season can be considered successful for Tottenham Hotspur.

Collymore used the example of four players to show that there are things for supporters to be positive about, as they look ahead to the summer and the possibilities of next season.

“Harry Kane’s been scoring goals, Christian Eriksen has been playing well and everyone has been talking about Bentaleb and Mason in the holding role,” said Collymore.

Tottenham may have looked short in their pursuit of the Champions League over the past year, but few can argue that Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t done a great job developing the club’s core of younger players.

Harry Kane has been phenomenal up front and has had the sort of impact that not many fans would have been expecting before Tottenham played their first game.

Christian Eriksen has always had it in his locker to be a match winner for the club and he’s popped up with vital goals at key times, such as in the League Cup tie against Sheffield United.

As for Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb, they have shown a great partnership and quality in midfield, which suggests consistency over the next few years, as Pochettino looks to develop the club in other areas.

It all bodes well for their chances next season, but until that top four position has been secured, a little bit of the shine is always going to be taken off of the progress they have made.
