Arsenal centre-back Per Mertesacker has sent his best wishes to German international teammate Holger Badstuber.
The 26-year-old tore a thigh muscle this week for Bayern Munich against Porto, as reported The Guardian.
It was a terrible blow for the Bundesliga ace, who has only recently returned having missed two years of action with a serous knee injury.
Badstuber was quoted saying he was 'bitterly disappointed', yet optimistic he would bounce back.
The defender missed out on last year's World Cup, but has made 14 appearances for Bayern Munich this season, and one for Germany.
He has done enough to earn himself a Bundesliga medal, with Bayern 10 points clear at the top at present, but his season is over.
He stands to miss Bayern's Champions League semi-final, which they qualified for after their stunning fight back against Porto.
The defender has a contract until 2017 with Pep Guardiola's side, and will now focus simply on being healthy enough to return in good shape for next season.
