Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are two of the biggest clubs of England, and that is proven by the number of followers they have on social networking site Twitter.
While North London outfit Tottenham have 1.09 million followers on Twitter, Newcastle are followed by 541,000 people.
Spurs hold 5.93% of the UK’s Twitter following, while the Magpies are a place below them in the ranking with 4.05%.
Interestingly, it is Liverpool who have the highest number of UK Twitter followers, followed by Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City. Current Premier League leaders Chelsea are not even in the top seven!
However, one suspects that it is not going to bother Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and his players too much, as they aim to take the Premier League title away from defending English champions City this season.
