Report: Newcastle leave three players sweating over new contracts

Three Newcastle United players are reportedly waiting to hear if they will get new deals with the club.

The Northern Echo has reported that three Newcastle United players don’t know whether they will be offered new contracts at the club.

The paper names Sammy Ameobi, Jonas Gutierrez and Ryan Taylor as the men currently in limbo at the club, with no decision made over the manager for next season, delaying the decision over whether they will be retained or moved on.

The club is under a little bit of pressure because in the case of Ameobi, the paper claims that two clubs, Real Sociedad and Middlesbrough, have already made their interest in signing him fully known.

Newcastle’s owner Mike Ashley could look to cash in, but the final decision over whether they stay at the club will most likely rest with the manager.

John Carver is the current boss, but there’s no indication whether he will be kept on at the club or whether someone else will come in.

A new manager would need time to review things and assess whether any of the three players could play a part next season. Hopefully they won’t be snapped up in the meantime.
