According to Goal.com, Newcastle United are considering selling Moussa Sissoko, Tim Krul and Fabricio Coloccini this summer, as Mike Ashley plans big changes at St. James' Park.
Newcastle are seemingly keen to make a number of renovations to their current squad and they feel that they may have to sell some of their key players to make room for new additions.
Sissoko, Krul and Coloccini are three of the Magpies' bigger name players, but as the club looks to move forward they could all be sold to help finance Newcastle's planned summer spending spree.
Newcastle apparently realise that they need to add a lot of quality to their squad if they are to meet their supporters' expectations and Ashley is reportedly prepared to invest this summer.
That will be good news for Newcastle fans, who have been desperate for their side to show some more ambition in the transfer window.
However, losing Sissoko, Krul and Coloccini would be a blow. The trio are all experienced members of their starting line-up and they have formed the core of their squad this season.
Sissoko has been one of Newcastle's best performers, with his powerful showings in midfield helping the side through some games, while Krul is a reliable stopper.
Coloccini has shown signs of age this term, but he still remains Newcastle's finest centre-back and it will require some big investment if the Tynesiders are to cover for the loss of the three players.
