Report: Memphis Depay travels to England to meet Manchester United for talks

PSV Eindhoven

Manchester United may be close to signing Memphis Depay.

Memphis Depay has held talks with Manchester United, according to Dutch website Voetball International.

The PSV winger is strongly linked with a summer switch to the Red Devils, having excelled for the Eredivisie side this season.

VI report that Depay used his day off to travel to England to meet Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal.

Also present was his agent Kees Ploegsma and his colleague Kees Vos.

The report adds that Depay has made up his mind to quit PSV this summer for a new challenge, and the trip was authorised by his club as an 'exploratory visit'.

Depay played under Van Gaal for Holland at the World Cup, but United are not the only side interested. The Mail reported this week that Bayern Munich are interested, along with Liverpool.

The 21-year-old winger has been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo and Arjen Robben, and has scored 20 goals in 27 Eredivisie starts this season.
