Celtic are reportedly tracking Club Brugge defender Brandon Mechele.
The Scotsman claims that Celtic are lining up a summer bid for Club Brugge defender Brandon Mechele.
Mechele has been a key player for Brugge this term and the Bhoys have apparently been impressed by his performances at the heart of the Belgian side's defence.
Mechele is still only 22-years-old, but he has played with a style beyond his years and Celtic's scouts have reported back positively to Ronny Deila about the centre-back's ability.
Celtic are on the look out for defensive additions as they fear they could lose both of their current central-defensive pairing in the coming months.
The report states that Virgil van Dijk is of interest to a number of clubs across Europe, while Jason Denayer is due to head back to Manchester City when his loan spell finishes.
It leaves Celtic looking short of numbers at the back and the arrival of Mechele would, therefore, be considered an important addition for the side.
The Scotsman says that Brugge are said to be reluctant to sell the centre-back, who is considered one of Belgium's best prospects, and have stuck a £3 million price-tag on him, but Celtic are still hopeful of getting a deal over the line.
