Sony cut the price of the Playstation 4 to under £300 for a limited period.

Sony have announced a big price cut for their Playstation 4 console, bringing the "next gen" console under the £300 mark for the first time.

The offer is only available until Tuesday 28th April 2015 in the UK in participating stores which include Game, Amazon.co.uk, Argos, Very and Tesco.

This will no doubt be great news for parents and gamers alike who haven't been able to afford a "next gen" console and as with previous consoles the drop beneath £300 has usually resulted in a sharp uptake of sales.

It is likely that Sony have been forced into this position by the recent price drop on the Xbox One by Microsoft, which has also seen the console drop to £299.99. It seems as though the console wars are still very much alive as they attempt to match each other.

Quite why the price drop is only temporary is beyond us but lets hope for something a little more permanent soon. For those with a bit of extra cash, now would be a great time to upgrade.
