Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be active in the summer transfer window.
Pochettino is famed for his demanding pre-season approach and it appears that he is aiming to have the bulk of his squad in place by the time they start training for the next campaign.
The Argentine head coach feels that it will be important for Tottenham to get their transfer targets through the door early on in the transfer window, and he doesn't want to be holding on until the end of the summer before welcoming new additions into his team.
“The most important thing is to be ambitious and to understand we need to try and build a strong team for next season, to fight for the top four," he said.
“We need to be clever and analyse things after May 24 and then move quickly to build the team. If we achieve the Europa League or not, we need to move quickly.”
Tottenham are expected to have a busy summer window as Pochettino looks to inject the quality required into his squad to allow them to break into the Premier League’s top four.
Pochettino has not made many big-name acquisitions since taking charge at White Hart Lane, but that is expected to change in the coming months.
It will, therefore, be crucial that the new arrivals are given adequate time in which to settle into their surroundings to ensure that Tottenham are ready to hit the ground running in 2015/16.
The Lilywhites' indifferent start this term has, ultimately, contributed to them struggling to make it into the Champions League places and Pochettino has clearly realised that his squad need to be on the top of their game right from the off in the next campaign.
